About The Conference

The Annual Devolution Confrence

Over the last six years, joint efforts have been made to ensure that devolution is a success. Both the National Government and the 47 County Governments have taken significant steps to implement devolution and each level of government supported sectors with fully devolved functions with requisite legislation, systems and structures to make it work. In turn, the public has been regularly updated and educated on citizen participation, the achievements so far and how they can contribute.

The County Governments have put in place mechanisms to strengthen and deepen devolution by continuously setting up sub counties, wards and decentralized entities including village council in order to expand public engagement in priority setting, decision-making and governance.

It is on this basis that the two levels of government have decided to engage with Kenyans once again through the 6th Annual Devolution Conference to build up from the previous Conference and to allow the Government and its key stakeholders to have discussions on what they have been able to deliver, the lives or the sectors that have been transformed over the last one year and to measure the progress made in the last one year in the Big Four Sectors which are Health, Agriculture, Trade and Manufacturing and Affordable Housing.
